About Shacklewell Lane Mosque (Masjid Ramadan)
Masjid Ramadan, also known as Shacklewell Lane Mosque, was founded in 1977 by Turkish Cypriot businessman Ramadan Güney. Wikipedia describes it as the first Turkish mosque in the United Kingdom.
The building previously housed the New Dalston Synagogue. The UK Turkish Islamic Trust, based at the mosque, runs an Islamic funeral service that arranges burials in Britain and repatriation to Turkey, North Cyprus and other places.
