About Waltham Forest Islamic Association (Lea Bridge Road Mosque)
The Waltham Forest Islamic Association (WFIA), which runs Jamia Masjid Ghousia, known locally as the Lea Bridge Road Mosque, gives its founding date as 1966. It describes itself as the largest and oldest Ahl-e-Sunnah masjid in the London Borough of Waltham Forest.
The mosque has a purpose-built women's prayer hall for several hundred people, which it says is very busy during Jummah, Ramadan and special occasions.
