About Khizra Mosque (Cheetham Hill)
Khizra Mosque opened on 27 September 1977 in a converted Victorian semi-detached house about 300 feet from today's building.
In 1993 the community bought land further down Cheetham Hill Road. The foundation stone of a new purpose-built mosque was laid in 1994, and it opened for prayers in 1997. The mosque is a branch of the UK Islamic Mission, which dates from 1962.
