About Jamia Islamia Glasgow (Tantallon Road Mosque)
Jamia Islamia says it was founded in the 1980s by Mohammad Siddiq Naqshbandi, who bought what was then a small prayer hall. In the 1990s the main prayer hall was built and the wudu area expanded, and in 2005 the prayer hall was extended again to the boundary wall.
Work on a double-storey side hall for community events such as Ramadan iftars began in 2017. The mosque's recent updates include a resurfaced car park and a full electrical rewiring.
