About Green Lane Masjid & Community Centre
Green Lane Masjid and Community Centre (GLMC) is one of the most prominent mosques in Birmingham, located in the Small Heath area and serving a large congregation from across the city and beyond. The mosque has developed into a major community hub, widely known for its extensive welfare activities including regular food banks, blood donation drives, youth programmes and support for new Muslims.
The building itself is a Grade II listed structure — one of very few listed mosques in England — lending it an architectural significance alongside its religious and social role. Green Lane Mosque is affiliated with the Salafi/Ahl al-Hadith tradition and places a strong emphasis on Quran-based teaching and accessible Islamic education. Its large Jummah congregations draw worshippers from across Birmingham's South Asian and wider Muslim community.
