About Masjid e Tauheedul Islam
Masjid-e-Tauheedul Islam is one of Blackburn's largest and most influential mosques, founded in 1963 to serve the rapidly growing South Asian Muslim community that settled in Lancashire in the post-war decades to work in the textile mills.
The mosque has expanded significantly over the decades to accommodate Blackburn's large Muslim population, which today numbers over 30,000. It hosts multiple Jumu'ah sessions each Friday, large Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha congregations, and taraweeh prayers throughout Ramadan. A hifz school and weekend madrasah provide Islamic education for children across the area.
Masjid-e-Tauheedul Islam has a strong track record of community welfare activity, supporting food banks, arranging funeral services and providing a hub for the spiritual and social life of Muslims across Blackburn with Darwen.
