About Wrexham Islamic Centre

Wrexham Islamic Cultural Centre (WICC), also known simply as Wrexham Mosque, is the main place of worship for the Muslim community of Wrexham and the surrounding areas of North Wales. It is run by The Muslim Association of Wrexham, a charity registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales on 25 April 1995 (charity no. 1045958), whose stated object is "to promote and advance the Islamic religion." The association acts as an umbrella body and point of contact for Muslims across the Wrexham region.

In October 2008 the association moved into its current home after acquiring the former North Wales Miners' Institute on Grosvenor Road in central Wrexham, converting the historic building into the Wrexham Islamic Cultural Centre. The centre is located in the Rhosddu/central area of Wrexham.

The mosque provides daily congregational prayers and weekly Friday (Jummah) prayers, with separate prayer facilities for men and women and wudu (ablution) facilities. Alongside worship, the centre has run educational and community activities, including Qur'an and Arabic classes. In its most recent reported financial year (ending 31 March 2025) the charity recorded income of around £156,000, and it is overseen by a board of trustees supported by volunteers, none of whom are remunerated.
