About Madina Masjid Oxford
Local elders bought the house at 2 Stanley Road and converted it into a mosque in 1984, making it one of the earliest mosques in Oxford. From the start it held the daily prayers and evening classes and provided marriage and funeral services.
The building has changed a great deal as the congregation has grown, and in 2026 the mosque began a renovation project. It also runs the Madina Institute Oxford for Islamic education.
