About Central Oxford Mosque

Central Oxford Mosque in the Cowley Road area is the main mosque serving Oxford's diverse Muslim community, which includes students and academics from Oxford University and Oxford Brookes, as well as long-established Pakistani, Bangladeshi and Arab families.

Founded in 1964, the mosque has been at the heart of Muslim community life in Oxford for six decades, providing daily prayers, Friday Jumu'ah, Eid congregations and taraweeh throughout Ramadan. Oxford's student community means the congregation is notably international and multilingual.

The mosque is active in interfaith dialogue and civic engagement in Oxford, working with the university chaplaincies, local faith groups and Oxford City Council.
