About Masjid e Zeenat ul Islam

Masjid-e-Zeenat-ul-Islam, known locally as Zeenat Mosque, is one of Coventry's longest-established mosques and sits at the heart of the Muslim community in the Foleshill area. According to the affiliated Madrasah Zeenatul Islam, it was established in 1967 by community elders as a place of worship and Islamic learning, originally based in terraced houses on Stoney Stanton Road. It is run by the registered charity Anjuman Gujarati Muslim Society (Charity Commission no. 500648), which promotes the teachings of the Gujarati Sunni (Deobandi) tradition.

The mosque serves Coventry's predominantly Gujarati Muslim community and follows the Sunni Deobandi tradition, at 283-287 Stoney Stanton Road, CV1 4FR. The facilities grew over the years, and a dedicated madrasah building adjacent to the masjid was constructed from 2002.

Alongside the five daily congregational prayers and Friday Jummah, the mosque provides Islamic education through Madrasah Zeenatul Islam (Qur'an recitation and memorisation, Urdu, Fiqh, Seerah, Aqaid and Islamic manners), nikah/marriage services as a registered building, and a funeral and burial service for the community. It runs on community donations and offers live streaming of events.
