About Coventry Mosque (Eagle Street)
Coventry Central Mosque (Eagle Street) is one of Coventry's oldest and most prominent mosques, established in 1972 to serve the city's growing South Asian Muslim community. Located in the Hillfields area, it has been a cornerstone of Muslim community life in Coventry for over 50 years.
The mosque hosts the five daily prayers, Friday Jumu'ah congregations, large Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha gatherings, and taraweeh prayers throughout Ramadan. Its attached Islamic school and madrasah provides Quranic and Islamic education for children across the city.
Coventry has a significant and diverse Muslim population, and the mosque plays an important role in pastoral care, community welfare and interfaith engagement across the city.
