About North Watford Mosque
By 2000 the Watford Mosque Association's Cambridge Road mosque, the first purpose-built mosque in Watford, could no longer hold its congregation, so a second site was bought on North Western Avenue. A donation of over half a million pounds helped complete the building, which opened on 18 April 2003.
In June 2003 the Watford Mosque Association received a Queen's Golden Jubilee Award. In March 2015 the then Deputy Prime Minister, Nick Clegg, visited the mosque.
