About Walsall Aisha Mosque & Islamic Centre
Walsall's growing South Asian community first worshipped in a small house at 97 Rutter Street, then moved to 25 Corporation Street when the area was redeveloped. Work on the town's first purpose-built mosque began on land bought from the council, with the foundation laid on 13 May 1983. The mosque was completed in 1988. The women's prayer gallery is on the upper floor, overlooking the main hall and dome.
