Surah Al-Kahf
الكهف
The Cave · 110 verses · Meccan
Surah al-Kahf is the 18th surah of the Qur'an and is famously recited every Friday. It contains four powerful stories — the People of the Cave, the Owner of the Two Gardens, Musa and al-Khidr, and Dhul-Qarnayn — each addressing one of life's four great trials: faith, wealth, knowledge and power.
Virtues & Benefits
- Whoever recites it on Friday will have a light from his feet to the heavens (al-Hakim, sahih).
- Memorising its first or last ten verses protects from the Dajjal (Sahih Muslim 809).
- Builds resilience against the four great fitnahs of human life.
When to read
- Every Friday (from Maghrib on Thursday to Maghrib on Friday).
- Memorising the first ten and last ten verses for protection from the trials of the Dajjal.
