Surah al-Ikhlas defines the absolute oneness of Allah (Tawhid) in just four short verses. The Prophet ﷺ said it is equivalent in reward to a third of the Qur'an (Sahih al-Bukhari 5013). It is one of the most frequently recited surahs after al-Fatiha.

Verses (4)

قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ

Qul huwa Allahu ahad

Say: He is Allah, the One.

اللَّهُ الصَّمَدُ

Allahu s-samad

Allah, the Eternal, the Absolute (upon whom all depend).

لَمْ يَلِدْ وَلَمْ يُولَدْ

Lam yalid wa lam yulad

He neither begets, nor is He begotten.

4

وَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُ كُفُوًا أَحَدٌ

Wa lam yakun lahu kufuwan ahad

And there is none comparable to Him.
