About Medina Mosque (Southampton)
Medina Mosque in the Bevois Valley area of Southampton is one of the principal mosques serving Southampton's Muslim community, established in 1977. Southampton has a diverse Muslim population with roots across South Asia, East Africa, the Middle East and further afield, partly reflecting the city's historic role as a major port.
The mosque provides the five daily prayers, Friday Jumu'ah, Eid congregations and taraweeh throughout Ramadan, and runs Islamic education and community welfare programmes supporting Muslim families across Southampton.
The Bevois Valley area is one of Southampton's most culturally diverse neighbourhoods and has been home to an established Muslim community for several decades.
