About Salisbury Mosque
Salisbury's Muslim community traces back to Bangladeshi settlers from 1962, with the city's first regular Friday prayers held from 1983 above local restaurants; before that, worshippers travelled to Southampton. The Muslim Association of Salisbury was formally established on 9 December 1996 and registered as a charity (no. 1059944), acquiring its first dedicated premises at 19 Wilton Road. As the community grew it moved to the larger 27 Wilton Road in 2013 and purchased the adjacent 25 Wilton Road in 2022, and is now undertaking a refurbishment to join the two into a single modern community centre. Today, branded as Salisbury Central Masjid, it is the main mosque serving Salisbury and the surrounding Wiltshire area with five daily prayers, Jummah, a children's evening and weekend madrasa, and funeral/Janazah services.</history> <parameter name="faqs">[{"q":"Where is Salisbury Mosque located?","a":"It is at 27 Wilton Road, Salisbury, Wiltshire, SP2 7ED.
