About Portsmouth Jami Mosque

Portsmouth Jami Mosque in Southsea is the principal mosque serving Portsmouth and the wider South Hampshire Muslim community. Established in 1981, it serves a diverse congregation from across the city's Muslim communities.

Portsmouth has a long history of Muslim settlement partly linked to its naval connections. The mosque serves South Asian, Arab and convert communities as well as students from the University of Portsmouth, providing the five daily prayers, Jumu'ah, Eid congregations and taraweeh throughout Ramadan.
