About Cricklewood Mosque

The Mosque & Islamic Centre of Brent, commonly known locally as Cricklewood Mosque, was established in 1976 (registered as a charity on 22 December 1976) and occupies a former Congregational church built in 1901-1902 on Howard Road. In a major 2005 renovation the building's spire was converted into a minaret with green domes and the interior was extensively refurbished, with the centre reopened by Lord Nazir Ahmed. It is one of north-west London's largest mosques, with capacity for over 2,000 worshippers at Friday prayers, and runs community services including free Islamic counselling, immigration and legal advice surgeries, and weekly free-meal distribution on Cricklewood Broadway.
