About Maidstone Mosque

Maidstone's purpose-built three-storey mosque opened in 2021 on the site of the town's former mosque on Mote Road, which had been demolished in 2018. The £1.2 million project, run by Maidstone Islamic Center Limited (registered charity no. 1178668), was delayed for several years by planning revisions and the pandemic, and is notable as the first mosque in Kent with its own mortuary. The centre serves over 350 worshippers at Friday prayers and runs a weekend madrassah attended by over 100 children, alongside a library, classrooms and a community hall.
