About Leigh Mosque

Leigh's Muslim community traces back to around 1970, when early settlers who worked in the local industrial mills converted a dilapidated terraced house into the town's first place of worship. In 1997 the community purchased a former primary and junior school on Vernon Street, which became the present Masjid al-Furqan. Today it is the main mosque serving Leigh, offering the five daily prayers, Friday Jummah and Quranic classes for children.
