About Harrogate Mosque

The Harrogate Islamic Association was founded in 2011 and registered as a charity (no. 1162809) in 2015 to serve the Muslim community of Harrogate and the wider North Yorkshire district. After a decade-long search for a permanent home, the Association purchased the former Home Guard club at 4 Belford Road in 2022 and has been converting it, phase by phase with community-raised funds, into Harrogate's first-ever dedicated mosque. During construction the Association has held congregational prayers at temporary venues including the Friends Meeting House in Harrogate, 12A Queen Parade, and the Chain Lane Community Hub in Knaresborough.
