About Hamilton Mosque

The Hamilton Islamic Centre is the mosque and community centre run by the South Lanarkshire Muslim Welfare Society, a charity registered with OSCR (SC037284) on 13 February 2006 and governed by an elected committee. Housed in converted shop premises at 10 Avon Street in central Hamilton, it serves Muslims across South Lanarkshire and provides the five daily congregational prayers, the Friday Juma prayer, the two annual Eid prayers, and Taraweeh and Iftar during Ramadan. Spiritual leadership is provided by Imam Shakeel Ahmad, and the society also runs educational and interfaith activities aimed at promoting understanding of Islam and good relations with other faith communities.
