About Grimsby Central Mosque

Grimsby's Muslim community has worshipped in the town since the 1960s, initially in halls and private homes. The Islamic Association of South Humberside was registered as a charity (no. 519342) on 21 October 1987 and established a mosque in 1988; as the community grew, the current, larger Grimsby Islamic Cultural Centre on Weelsby Road opened in 2008. The mosque serves Grimsby and Cleethorpes, offering five daily prayers, Jummah, funeral and marriage services, and runs a dedicated Arabic and Quran school (Al Noor School) for children.
