Eid al-Adha prayer (Salat al-Eid) consists of 2 Rak'ahs with additional Takbeers. It is performed in congregation, typically outdoors or in a mosque. It is Wajib (obligatory) according to the Hanafi school and Sunnah Mu'akkadah according to others.
- Performed after sunrise (approximately 15–20 minutes after)
- No Adhan or Iqamah for Eid prayer
- 12 extra Takbeers — 7 in the first Rak'ah, 5 in the second
- Followed by 2 Khutbahs
- Make Ghusl, wear best clothes, eat after Eid prayer (unlike Eid al-Fitr)
🐑 Qurbani (Udhiyah) 2026
Qurbani (Arabic: قُرْبَانِي) or Udhiyah is the sacrifice of a halal animal on the days of Eid al-Adha. It is Wajib on every sane, adult Muslim who possesses wealth above the Nisab. The meat is divided into three parts: one for the family, one for relatives/friends, and one for the poor.
