About Colne Mosque
Jamia Masjid Madina is the main (and only registered) mosque in Colne, Lancashire. The community established it in 1980, when members purchased a terrace house on Boundary Street and converted it into a masjid through volunteer effort; in 1990 the growing congregation relocated to a converted terrace house at 3-5 Chapel Street, later expanding into an adjacent property. It is a registered charity (no. 1149265) providing daily prayers, Quran and Islamic education classes for children and adults, and annual Islamic festivals. The mosque purchased a former parish church building in 2016 as part of a "New Masjid Project" to create a larger, purpose-built facility.
