About Colchester Central Mosque
Colchester Jamiah Masjid, run by the Colchester Islamic Cultural Association (CICA), is the town's first mosque, established when a group of local Muslims formed the organisation in October 1985. The property at 3 Priory Street was purchased in 1992 for £49,000, with a neighbouring property added in 2005 to expand the premises. The association was registered as a charity (no. 293712) in February 1986 and serves the Colchester Muslim community with daily prayers, Jumu'ah, a children's madrasah and educational and community programmes.
