About Chelmsford Central Mosque (Chelmsford Muslim Society)
Chelmsford Mosque, also known as Jamia Masjid, is the first Jamia Masjid established in Chelmsford and serves as a central point of contact for the Muslim community across Chelmsford and the wider Essex area. Located at 13a Moulsham Street, it follows the Sunni Deobandi tradition and is operated by the Chelmsford Muslim Society (registered charity no. 1139707), historically supported by the local Bangladeshi and Pakistani communities. Alongside the five daily prayers and Friday Jummah, the mosque provides Islamic education and funeral (Janaza) services for the bereaved.
