About Asr Prayer

Asr is the third of the five daily prayers, prayed in the mid-to-late afternoon. It consists of 4 obligatory rakaat. The Quran is named after this prayer — Surah Al-Asr — and the Prophet ﷺ gave it special emphasis among the five prayers.

"By Al-Asr — verily, man is in loss, except those who have faith and do righteous deeds." (Quran 103:1-3). The Prophet ﷺ also said that whoever misses Asr is like one who has lost their family and wealth (Bukhari/Muslim).
