About Bath Mosque
Bath's Muslim community — students and workers who arrived from around the world in the 1970s — first gathered for prayer in the basement of a Georgian terraced house on Pierrepont Street owned by Palestinian businessman Diya Eddin Muhiyeddin Al-Muzaffar, who later sold the property to the community at roughly half its market value. The Bath Islamic Society was incorporated on 8 June 1983 to run the mosque, which is named the Al-Muzaffar Mosque after its benefactor. By the mid-1990s the city's previously separate Muslim groups had united under one roof, and it remains the one and only mosque serving all Muslims in Bath today.</history> <parameter name="capacity">0
