After an earlier proposal near Boultham Park was rejected, the association acquired a site off Boultham Park Road in November 2012 and secured planning permission for a purpose-built mosque. Following a lengthy fundraising and construction effort — and setbacks including the original contractor going into administration — the new Lincoln Central Mosque & Cultural Centre on Dixon Street opened in 2018. It is described as the only purpose-built mosque in Lincolnshire. Today the mosque serves a diverse congregation drawn from around 40 nationalities. Alongside the five daily prayers and Friday Jummah, it offers Islamic education, community programmes, a food bank (run in partnership with the Acts Trust, Lincoln), and funeral services including a dedicated mortuary and Janazah prayers.
