London Unified uses moonsighting-committee Fajr and Isha for London mosques. Muslim World League (MWL) uses fixed angles — Fajr 18°, Isha 17° — and is the default for UK cities outside London and the M25.

## In detail

The London Unified Prayer Timetable was agreed so that mosques across the capital pray at the same times. Sunrise, Dhuhr, Asr and Maghrib are derived from sun positions with small published adjustments; Fajr and Isha come from Hizbul Ulama observation tables.

MWL is a valid astronomical method used widely across the UK and the world. It is simply not what most London mosques follow. On London pages we show both so you can compare.

Outside London and the M25, this site defaults to MWL computed locally from each city’s coordinates.
